Stephene is a Licensed Professional Counselor who practices integrative psychotherapy. She has been counseling for more than 25 years, serving a diverse population both in age and in ethnicity.

Her broad range of experience includes helping people in the midst of: anxiety, depression, grief, trauma recovery, life transitions, and relationship struggles. See here for further areas of emphasis.

Over the course of her life, Stephene has placed a priority on walking with those who are underserved and vulnerable. Her background includes homeless outreach, mentoring at-risk youth, and serving the refugee community.

Outside of her professional work, Stephene enjoys all things outdoors including running, hiking, kayaking, camping, and gardening. As an introvert, she also loves time alone to ponder life, read, and do yoga. Stephene lives in South St. Louis City with her husband, and they have three adult children. The VandenBrinks are a multi-racial family through adoption.

Stephene holds a Masters of Arts in Counseling from Covenant Seminary.
